The documentary center was born from the meeting of the association with Mr. Bernard Messager, passionate about the history of the Great War and collector of books and publications on the subject. He became a member of the association and collaborated with the museum. He passed away in May 2012, and had told his family that he wanted to deposit his collection at the Fort de Leveau so that it could be consulted on site..<\/p>\n
The Bernard Messager Documentary Center is therefore intended for people (teachers, students or individuals) conducting research on the First World War. It is composed of the deposit made by the relatives of M Messager and the documentary fund of the association regularly enriched with new works. It counts to date more than 4 700 books, booklets, magazines or leaflets and more than 8 000 postcards essentially centered on the Great War.<\/p>\n

The Documentary Center is open on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment (Annual closure from December 1st to February 15th included).<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]
When you arrive, go to the association's office located in the Emile Fontaine room to fill out the loan form. The documents are obtained after the deposit of an identity document which will be returned to you at your departure.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]
